La Ruina & Raj is a little more pricy than most places in town, but it’s hard to be disappointed in a place that cooks from their heart and soul.

SHEMO
Shemo is a homey little restaurant serving up delicious and authentic Georgian cuisine. The owner was super friendly and was more than happy to help translate the menu. They have an extensive Georgian wine list as well, sip on anything from the Kakheti region. At Shemo find that class Georgian hospitality, modest portions, and hearty food.

Wander Down Apollo Passage | Pasaż Apollo
Take a stroll down Poznan’s contemporary street of Pasaż Apollo. This cute passage street is sandwiched between Piekary and Ratajczaka, near the popular Apollo Theater. But when it comes to finding the perfect doughnut, all you have to do is trust your nose. The sweet and delicious scent is oftentimes wafting through the streets.
While in Poznan, make sure to head over and explore the nearby Jezyce District. There’s a self-guided walking tour, that shows the influence of the German’s who came from Bamberg, Germany.

This intimate and charming little shop is nestled almost quietly off of Poznan’s Old Market Square. They serve up a wide range of hot chocolates, coffees, and an assortment of chocolate treats.

Umberto Cafe & Ristorante is a totally adorable cafe tucked perfectly away in Cytadela Park, a park home to lovely rose gardens, old war memorabilia, and lots of paved trails. The cafe focuses on Italian inspired dishes, but what’s great is their garden space across the street. Hang out in one of a variety of hammocks, lounge chair, and benches while staring at interesting old war planes. Umberto’s has done an excellent job of repurposing old barrels and crates as funky garden furniture. To best utilize the outdoor space, order first inside the cafe with a server. On the go? Grab an ice cream cone for take away to enjoy strolling the urban park.

KontenerART
KontenerART is exactly what it sounds like: an artistic outdoor space made from old shipping containers. This urban space has pop-up shops with local artists, different food and drink vendors, a stage for music, events, and a list of community workshops. Beanbag chairs are spread out throughout the sand laced floor and hammocks swing from large trees providing shade. KontenerART really feels like a living campus space for the populous university students.
The prices are more than reasonable and it was a perfect, hip, spot to enjoy the sunny weather. There’s often live music or a DJ spinning. This energetic outdoor space doesn’t open until noon, and gets more hopping as the day goes on.

Check for an Outdoor Festival
During the summer months, it seems there is always some kind of event or festival happening between the Old Market Square and Freedom Square. Some of these events can be as long as month and vendors sell everything from gemstones, local wine, art, and handmade jewelry.With these festivals come seriously authentic food stands.

There’s plenty of space inside, but if you’re lucky grab a prime-time seat right on Stary Rynek.

PanKraft Pub
This inviting pub focuses on all things beer! The menu boasts over 150 different Polish beers from many different breweries and microbreweries. PubKraft Pub also mixes together unique “beer cocktails.” They offer a few different beers on draft, but most come in bottle form. Don’t know where to start? The friendly bartender will offer you some great suggestions! In front of the building, find a welcoming outdoor seating area.

Nightlife on Wrocławska Street
Poznan University boasts over 140,000 students, and you can usually find them at night filling up Wrocławska Street. All the pubs and bars will be packed with young people, but the party continues in the street. It’s located directly to the left of Havana Club if you were to be facing it.
Stop in Havana Club to listen to some great Cuban music, or continue walking. You will hear people belting out their favorite karaoke song, glasses clinking, and lots of laughter. This street is prime time people watching. Wrocławska Street is definitely the street to “be” if looking for Poznan’s more lively party street.
