Chochołowskie Termy, Luxury That Won’t Break the Bank
Image being surrounded by the beautiful Tanta Mountains, enjoying saunas and steam rooms, relaxing in a salt cave, and soaking in therapeutic thermal pools, completely butt-ass naked. Yes, all of the above is a perfect way to spend the day in the Saunarium at the Chocołowskie Termy. From it’s location, state of the art facilities, and reasonably priced ticket, DO NOT MISS this little glimpse of nirvana in Poland.
The Saunarium entrance ticket enforces the no clothing policy. For those who don’t want to bare it all, stick to the public thermal pools on the first floor! Swimming suits required!

The best part is, Chochołowskie Termy won’t break your pocketbook and is relatively afforadable. Visiting the luxurious facilities of the Saunarium can cost as low as $25, yet gives the impression of stepping into a 5 star resort. I’ve soaked in a number of thermal pools across Europe, but Chocołowskie Termy is one that my mind often drifts back to a blissful memory. Chochołowskie Termy just may be my favorite thermal pool with the best value.
So, go ahead and treat yourself!

How To Get to Chochołowskie Termy
Zakopane is a great base to explore the Tatra Mountains and is within a close proximity to the Chochołowskie Termy.
By Bus
Chochołowskie Termy is a quick 30 minute bus ride outside of Zakopane, Poland. There is a specific bus in the main terminal that will drop you off right outside the complex. Look for the Chochołowski Termy logo on the side of the bus, but it’s easy to double check with the driver. Even though most drivers do not speak English, they can help point you in the right direction. Bus tickets shouldn’t cost more than 6 PLN ($1.50 USD). Once you arrive at the Termy, check across the street for the last bus.

The Facilities of Chocołowskie Termy
The building itself is beautiful. Upon arrival there is a bar, restaurant, and even a pastry shop before the ticketed area. I found the shops a little more expensive, so of course you are paying for the convenience. The impressive Tatra Mountains sit off in the distance making the viewpoints absolutely spectacular. If you didn’t get a chance to hike in these incredible mountains, than these striking views are a worthy substitute. Those who were lucky enough to spend time in the Tatra Mountains can appreciate an alternative perspective. Also, it’s a great way to relax after those vigorous days of hiking!

The facilities, for the amount of people that were there, were spotless. The main pools usually run at temperatures between 90-97°F, so you can utilize the indoor and outdoor pools at any time of year. The pools use the natural thermal waters from the area, so reap all the health benefits and soothe your aching muscles at the same time! There also offer saline and sulfur pools.
Tip
Are you a solo traveler or traveling with your partner? Save money and the headache by only purchasing the Saunarium ticket.

This is as good as it gets. What is the catch for this ticket? There is an age limit of over 18 years old. Why? It is completely nude. There are no if, and, or….. butts about it. Yes, pun intended.
The Saunarium is located on the top floor, and has a strict policy to be nude. Upon entering, you are given a towel and immediately directed to the separate locker section to swap your swimming suit for your birthday suit. It felt a little weird at first, but everyone was doing it. Moment of truth, if everyone else has no shame, you shouldn’t either. It is not very common for Americans to just walk around naked in a Spa, but I found the atmosphere to be completely comfortable.
The Saunarium facilities were state of the art and included: three types of Finnish Saunas, Infrared Sauna, Steam Bath, Salt Cave, Salt Relaxation Room, multiple Jacuzzi’s with full bodied jets, Cool Pools, barrels of sulfuric water, and an observatory deck that will make anyone jealous. One of the Saunas even opened out to a stunning view of the Tatra Mountains. This was pure euphoria.

There are also multiple “classes” in the hottest sauna. There is a class posting next to the reception desk in the Saunarium. Classes are included in the price of your ticket. While I was there, there was some kind of towel dance followed by a snack of frozen berries.
So Skip the Main Thermal Pools?
In my opinion, if you are traveling solo or with an intimate partner, and of course, over the age of 18: YES. Skip the Main thermal pools. I also found groups of friends comfortable enough to be naked together enjoying their time in Saunarium. With this ticket, reap all the benefits of the main thermal pool waters, but in a space of relaxation and luxury.
The main thermal pools are GREAT for families with children. There are tons of water slides and different size and temperature pools, but it is packed and loud. In all honesty, there were tons of children running around. I much more enjoyed the tranquility and serenity of the Saunarium. I bought the combo ticket for the thermal pool and Saunarium, but I only spent 10 minutes in the main area and the rest of my time in the Saunairum.
Save money and stick solely to the Saunarium ticket!
Ticket Prices
How much does a ticket set you back? Well it all depends. Do you want to visit the other pools or focus on the Saunarium?

Budget Tip
As you can see, it will only set you back 89 PLN ($22 USD) for an unlimited time frame in the Saunarium. If you want to include the pools, the price adds an extra 40 PLN ($10 USD). In my humble opinion, save the $10 and stick to the Saunarium.
The Saunarium admission includes one towel, so you don’t have to pay extra for the towel
I purchased the four hour pass, but instantly regretted it. I could have spent all day soaking in the views and relaxing! If I had do it all over again, I would have chosen the no time limit pass compared to the 4 hour pass.
Other Costs at Chochołowskie Termy
After payment, you receive an automatic wrist band that gives access to a locker and the rest of the facilities. Don’t worry about carrying around cash or cards because everything is tracked on the wristband! It’s super convenient.
At the end of the visit, pay with cash or card. There are a few snack bars and a restaurant in the main pool area. The Saunarium also offers a beverage list where you can choose from beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and even specialty smoothies. I found the non-alcoholic drinks to be reasonably priced. Once you leave the facilities you can not be readmitted. If you are hungry during your ticketed time, these are your only options.
Spa
The Termy offers an intensive Spa menu and it is required to book in advance. They offer everything from massages, medical treatments, and even cosmetic treatments.
Check out the detailed Spa menu here.
