This self-guided bike tour of the Moravian wine region begins from the adorable village of Mikulov. The trail highlights includes the scenic Pálava Hills Region and a small section of the Mikulov Wine Trail. It also passes through the beautiful hamlets of Valtice and Lednice, both which boasts chateaus and palaces and are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape.

- Excursion Duration: This bike route is a full day adventure!
- Difficulty: The trail is mostly flat trail along a paved bike trail. There are some sections that share the main roads and a small section on a dirt path making it fairly easy to navigate. The high mileage is what makes this Mikulov tour route moderate difficulty.
- Trail Markers: There are a few trail markers along the route, but mostly just download a map. In the Czech Republic, the app of Map.cz works excellent.
- There is little shade coverage along this bike route, but plenty of places to buy snacks and water. Of course, don't forget all the little wine shops and wine bars to sample Moravian wine!

Bike Rental Tips
A great place to rent a bike in Mikulov is from Mikolovna E-Bike & Bicycle Rental. This centrally located shop is run by an extremely friendly man who provides helpful information, advice, and tips for biking through the stunning Moravian wine region. He also speaks English, which is a huge plus. The bikes are of high quality and in excellent condition, which comes in handy for the hilly terrain. If those pesky hills seem like too much, there's an option to rent E-bikes.
All rentals include a helmet, lock, and useful gear incase of a flat tire. There are options to rent other essentials like a phone case that displays your map, which come in handy!

Overview of Mikulov Wine Trail Tour
First, leave Mikulov and pass through the small village of Úlvay. Villa Daniela is a cute place to stop and enjoy a glass of Moravian wine in a charming garden setting.
Next, stop by the small hamlet of Valtice. Savor a glass of Moravian wine at the Chataeu Valtice. A convenient stop-off for bikers is at the old converted gatehouse. After that, continue towards Lednice via the small village of Hlohovec. Take a right and eventually cross the small lake to arrive in Lednice. If you have time, visit the lovely Chateau of Lednice and explore more of the impressive gardens. When ready, head back towards Mikulov.
On the return to Mikulov, follow the opposite side of the lakes and pass via the small village of Sedlec, which has a few small wineries. After Sedlec, it's easy to recross the river and return to the paved bike path. Arrive back in Mikulov Czech Republic just before dinner time.
